PIO is the Parallel I/O library which is intended to be a front end for writing with both MPI-IO and PnetCDF. We need to have pio working so it can be used in a run of POP at 1/10th degree global resolution on the Watson BlueGene? (about 30K processors)

Get the standalone CAM running on BlueGene? at a moderately high FV resolution (1.1125). Use Sid's mods for restarts and Wills mods for pilgrim. Should be able to write and read a restart and write history.
