Description

hello, I am in windows os with cygwin. I followed the steps which are described
in the "MPICH2 Installer’s Guide Version 0.4 " pdf to install mpich2 under
the cygwin. When I finished the steps, I found all the regular commands, such as
man, which, gcc, cannot be used and the prompt is: the command not found.

But before the installation, the commands mentioned above are used normally.

Could you please help me solve the problems? All steps were followd  by the pdf
paper.
 Thanks a lot.

The latest MPICH2 installer's guide is version 1.1 for MPICH2-1.1. Are you sure you are using version 0.4 which would be very old ? If possible, use the latest release MPICH2-1.1.

Did you add (either prepend or append) mpich2's install bin directory to your PATH or did you overwrite PATH ? If you overwrite your PATH, none of the standard unix commands will be found.
