mpich2 1.1.1p1 does not install on win2k systems

The user was able to install 1.0.7 successfully on his win2k machine. However install of 1.1.1p1 failed.

(Even after wiping out all MPICH related entries from registry manually the install for 1.1.1p1 failed.) -Jayesh

Hi,

Can you try to install MPICH2 manually by unzipping the file, MPICH2_1_1_1_p1.zip, attached with this ticket (https://trac.mcs.anl.gov/projects/mpich2/ticket/832) to "c:\program files\mpich2" and following the steps below,

1) Copy *.dll in "C:\program files\mpich2\lib" to "c:\windows\system32" 2) Run "smpd -install" from command prompt

Let us know the results.

(PS: We are assuming that some new features added to MPICH2 requires features not present in Win2K)

This should be fixed as of r5634. The patch will be available in the next minor release (1.2.1) which is slated for release in 1-2 weeks.
