Heckle: Hardware Enabled Cloud Kernel Loading Environment
Heckle is a management service for large cluster and cloud installations that rely on network booting for their nodes.
For Administrators…
Heckle allows administrators to define hardware platforms, images, and nodes. Heckle uses this information to control the boot process of an entire cluster.
For Users…
Heckle provides an allocation service, whereby users of a cloud or cluster can request hardware resources. Heckle will reserve the requested hardware and allow the user to boot whatever image is requested for the duration of the allocation.
