Description

Hi there,

it might surprise some of you but we are going to stick with DBStats for a long time. it works perfectly fine for our needs and we have no reason to move away....

as you may already know, we have built our own web interface to DBStats and I will soon be merging both bad-items and extra-items into one view.

the idea behind it because when someone click on a config item summary page, such as a package or service. he will see the list of hosts for which this item is present, extra, missing or need to be upgraded.

now if "good" items would be stored as well, we could display on which hosts this item is present although it is correct. this would allow us to use bcfg2 further as a inventory product and answer general questions such as "where is httpd running?"

I know a similar feature is present in the database model of Snapshots. but it is impossible for us and potentially other bcfg2 users to move from DBStats to Snapshots.

I presume good items could be stored under a new type (4) in reports_entries_interactions.

thank you
