1414Bcfg2 is fairly portable. It has been successfully run on:
15  * AIX, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Solaris
16  * Many GNU/Linux distributions, including CentOS, Debian, Gentoo, Mandrake, RHEL, Redhat, SLES, SuSE and Ubuntu.
     15 * [http://www.ibm.com/aix AIX], [http://www.freebsd.org/ FreeBSD], [http://www.apple.com/macosx/ Mac OS X], [http://opensolaris.org OpenSolaris], [http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/ Solaris]
     16 * Many [http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html GNU/Linux] distributions, including [http://www.blagblagblag.org/ Blag], [http://www.centos.org CentOS], [http://www.debian.org/ Debian], [http://fedoraproject.org/ Fedora], [http://www.gentoo.org/ Gentoo], [http://www.gnewsense.org gNewSense], [http://www.mandriva.com/ Mandriva], [http://www.opensuse.org openSUSE], [http://www.redhat.com/rhel/ Redhat/RHEL], [http://www.novell.com/linux/ SuSE/SLES], [http://trisquel.info/ Trisquel] and [http://www.ubuntu.com/ Ubuntu].
1717Bcfg2 should run on any POSIX compatible operating system, however direct support for an operating system's package and service formats are limited by the currently available [wiki:ClientTools client tools] (new client tools are pretty easy to add). There is also an [wiki:EncapPlatforms incomplete but more exact list of platforms on which Bcfg2 works].
