Time

pre-industrial: 500 year control run with constant 1850 forcing. 6,000 months of data for each variable.

historial: 156 years from 1850 to 2005. 1,872 months. Forced with observed CO2 and other forcings.

rcp45: 95 years from 2006 to 2100 with increasing CO2. 1140 months.

rcp85: 95 years from 2006 to 2100 with increasing CO2. 1140 months.

Data sizes

Most variables are 2D and all time values are in one file.

3D variables are split up into files that are less than 2GB in size.

e.g. mrlsl: soil moisture at each of 15 depth levels
